Building Infrastructure to Increase LPG Penetration.

By promoting the use of LPG the Group aims to be at the fore of efforts at creating a better future for both women and children in our society.

Quality Indoor Air

Women and children in Ghana face significant health risks due to indoor air pollution caused by traditional cooking methods involving wood and charcoal burning. The resulting smoke and pollutants can lead to respiratory diseases and other health issues, particularly affecting women who spend more time in the kitchen. Arch Holdings and its subsidiaries aim to reduce these health risks by building LPG infrastructure and promoting LPG usage for cooking. By improving indoor air quality, this initiative seeks to create a safer and healthier environment for women and children in Ghana.

Workload and Cooking time reduction

By ensuring access to LPG for cooking, the group aims to alleviate the burden on women who previously had to collect, prepare, and cook with wood and charcoal. This shift will also spare children from helping with these tasks, allowing them to focus on their education. LPG’s efficiency and convenience offer a cooking solution that empowers women to engage in income-generating activities while children can concentrate on their studies.

Enhanced Safety

The use of wood and charcoal for cooking usually involves open flames that pose significant fire hazards for especially households with children. By actively promoting the switch to LPG, the Group and its subsidiaries seek to create a safer environment for women and children by enhancing kitchen safety.

Gender Equality

The drive for increased use of LPG in cooking helps the girl child massively and creates an equal opportunity for her to focus on her education as the boy child. In most families the education of the girl child is affected by the burden placed on her to look for and gather wood for cooking whilst the boy is allowed to continue with their education. With the increased adoption of LPG girls are freed from these tasks thus fostering their personal development and contributing to gender equality.

Preserving the future:

By getting more people to move from the use of charcoal and wood for cooking to LPG the Group is helping to conserve our forests and protect ecosystems for future generations ensuring a better future for all.

The increased adoption of LPG for clean cooking contributes to a better future for women and children. By empowering women and improving the well-being of children Arch holdings aims to pave the way for a brighter future for all.
